By an order dated 2 September 2026 under section 27 of the Competition Act, 2002, CCI has directed Trustees’ Association of India, IDBI Trusteeship Services Limited, Axis Trustee Services Limited and SBI CAP Trustee Company Limited to cease and desist from conduct found to violate section 3(3)(a) and 3(3)(b) read with section 3(1). No monetary penalty was imposed.
Two NCLT circulars change how papers are filed before all Benches. From 3 September 2026 all pleadings are to be printed back-to-back. And by the circular of 25 August 2026, a document filed on the Bench’s direction must annex that order; a document filed without any direction will not be processed by the Registry.
General Circular 04/2026 dated 31 August 2026 extended CCFS-2026 from 31 August to 15 September 2026 on representations from stakeholders. All other terms of the Scheme stayed unchanged.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has put out FAQs on registration of foreign companies and on Indian subsidiaries of foreign body corporates. They cover Forms FC-1 to FC-4, name reservation under rules 8 and 8A, the documents ROC-CRC expects, and when notarisation, apostille or consularisation is needed.
By an order dated 21 August 2026 under section 27 of the Competition Act, 2002 (Case No. 06 of 2023), CCI has imposed monetary penalties on Agro Input Dealers Association (AIDA), Agro Input Welfare Association (AIWA) and four individuals, directed them to cease and desist, and ordered a competition compliance training programme.
The Competition Commission of India has amended its Commitment Regulations, 2024. The figure in regulation 3(3) for filing a commitment application goes from 45 to 60, the Commission’s first look from 7 to 15, and the overall limit from 130 to 180. A defective application is now returned and may be refiled within 10 working days, with the fee adjusted.
Administrative instructions issued for all Benches prescribe the sequence in which matters are listed, carry forward unheard supplementary matters to the next working day, and require a registered matter to be listed ordinarily within three working days.
The two online services give advocates and litigants faster access to records and certified copies. NCLT also reported 78 resolution plans approved in April–June 2026.
NCLT’s Standard Operating Procedure for e-Certified Copies sets out the route on the e-Filing portal: one application per copy, payment within 7 days of approval, and a digitally signed Facing Sheet with QR code. Once a copy is authenticated by a court or tribunal it cannot be used again; a fresh copy has to be applied for.
By General Circular No. 02/2026 of 19 June 2026, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs allowed companies to file Form DPT-3 (return of deposits) for the financial year 2025-26 without additional fees up to 31 July 2026, because of restoration work at its data centre after a fire on 5 June 2026.
