Minimum Import Price on ATS-8 and Sulfadiazine API extended up to 30 November 2026: DGFT Notifications No. 39/2026-27 and 40/2026-27

Two DGFT notifications of 30 September 2026 extend Minimum Import Price conditions on Chapter 29 items up to 30 November 2026: USD 111 per kg (CIF) on ATS-8, and ₹1,774 per kg (CIF) on Sulfadiazine API. All other terms of the original notifications stay the same.

Two notifications, one date

On 30 September 2026 DGFT issued two notifications under sections 3 and 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraphs 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023. Both extend an existing Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition on items under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy), and both run up to 30 November 2026.

ATS-8: the codes covered

Notification No. 39/2026-27 records that the MIP on ATS-8 applies to imports under these ITC (HS) codes:

  • 29329990, 29339990, 29333990, 29321990, 29349990;
  • 29420090, 29189990, 29159099, 29163990 and 29225090.

Sulfadiazine API

Notification No. 40/2026-27 describes the item as Sulfadiazine API covered under Chapter 29 of ITC (HS) 2022, Schedule-I (Import Policy). It does not list individual eight-digit codes.

What stays the same

In both cases the notification says that all other terms and conditions of the original notification remain the same. Neither notification changes the price or adds a new condition; each extends only the period. Both are issued with the approval of the Minister of Commerce & Industry.

What importers should do

  • If you import ATS-8 under any of the ten codes above, the MIP of USD 111 per kg on CIF value continues to apply for imports up to 30 November 2026.
  • If you import Sulfadiazine API, the MIP of ₹1,774 per kg on CIF value continues to apply up to 30 November 2026.
  • For the conditions attached to each MIP, refer to Notification No. 30/2025-26 dated 18 September 2025 and Notification No. 41/2025-26 dated 10 October 2025 respectively.
